Here's how to sharpen the blade on your mower. First, disconnect the spark plug and remove the gas by running it out of the engine or using a siphon pump. Use a blade removal tool, a clamp, or another tool to stabilize the blade and remove the bolt. Remove the blade, secure the blade in a vise, and use a metal file to sharpen along the edge in a long, sweeping motion. Then hang it on a nail to check that the blade is balanced. Place the blade back on the spindle, add the bolt, and tighten.
Connect the spark plug, refill with fuel, and get back to mowing.
