Bosch 18V Nailers & Staplers

New range of finish nailers and narrow crown stapler by Bosch. Today, you will learn about Bosch stapler and nailer assortment, key features and benefits of the nailer and stapler, key differentiators between the nailer and stapler range, and proper selection of compatible nails and staples.

What I have with me is the Bosch 18 volt brushless 15 gauge and 16 gauge angled finish nailer, the 18V brushless 18 gauge brad nailer, and the 18 volt brushless narrow crown stapler.

Bosch's 18V brushless nailer range provides unmatched productivity gains by eliminating the need for compressors and air hoses in a cordless solution. Compact and ergonomically designed, our cordless nailers give workers the flexibility to access tight workspaces while also helping reduce worker fatigue.

There are three standout features that separate our nailer range from the competition. These are what we refer to as the Bosch advantage. Each nailer is equipped with an optimized drivetrain that helps reduce recoil, leading to less fatigue and more precise nailing. A convenient one-handed on/off switch allows for quick and easy operation that's suitable for both right-handed and left-handed users, helping to reduce frustration on the job site.

Additionally, our nailer range has a large viewing window that provides superior line of sight, helping minimize costly mistakes by giving workers a clear sight of the workpiece while in use. Our intuitive user interface on the tool, known as HMI, makes it easy for workers to toggle between single-shot and bump-fire mode. It also notifies users when the tool is in need of servicing or the tool requires a system reset, regardless of whichever mode the worker is operating in.

The nailer will activate dry fire lockout when down to the last five nails. This reduces workpiece damage, which is often referred to as marring.

Now that you are familiar with Bosch's new range of nailers, let's go over what type of fasteners you will need for each tool and application. We've been using the term gauge a lot, so let's clarify what it means in this context. Gauge refers to the thickness of the fastener and the corresponding tool that it's compatible with.

For example, a 16 gauge nailer is compatible with a 16 gauge nail that has the same angle as the nailer's chamber. Opposite of what one would think, the lower the gauge, the thicker it is. Fasteners are universally compatible, meaning Bosch's 16 gauge nails would also be compatible with other brand 16 gauge nailers. This is important to note, as nails are highly consumable with more nails in each box.

Bosch nails are for the professional worker who values limiting downtime. Bosch offers both stainless steel and galvanized nails. A galvanized nail is dipped in zinc, which helps prevent rusting. Stainless steel nails are heavier duty than galvanized nails and are for less visible applications.

In addition to gauge, angle, and composition of material, the length of the nail is another variable. We offer a variety of lengths so you can find a Bosch nail that best suits your intended use case.

The key difference between each tool in our range comes down to their typical use cases, the visibility of the workpiece, and its weight. This helps determine which type of fastener should be used.

For example, 15 and 16 gauge nailers have a greater attachment force, making them ideal for heavier tasks such as installation of thicker, bulkier trim, or other materials. Some examples include installation of thick baseboard trim, installation of crown trim, window casing, securing stair treads, and installing tongue and groove flooring.

18 gauge brad nails are thin in size and best used in lightweight wood trims. These nailers leave clean holes that do not require filling. Some examples of applications are face frame cabinetry, shoe molding on baseboard, and decorative trim.

Moving on to the narrow crown stapler. Narrow crown staplers offer more supporting power than 18 gauge brad nails. However, the holes left behind by crown staples are bigger than those left behind by 18 gauge brad nails. Just like the nails, we are also offering narrow crown staples. Some common applications include securing backing on cabinets, securing thin sheet goods in place, and securing fabrics in place.
