About Homelite Equipment and Parts:
Homelite is one of the oldest and most recognized outdoor
power equipment names in America. The company was
originally started by Charles H. Ferguson in 1921 as the
Home Electric Lighting Company to produce 2 cycle gas
powered generators. The company's name was shortened to
Homelite in 1924. From 1949 to the late 1980’s Homelite
was best known as manufacturer of gas power chainsaws at
both the consumer and professional level.
Like most other equipment brands, parts for older Homelite
models are often discontinued and only available as used or
new old stock. Increasingly the older saw models and
especially early generators and water pumps are becoming
sought after by collectors worldwide. One good example is
the Homelite XL100 gas powered circular saw which is
highly valued by collectors.
In 1955 the Homelite corporation was purchased by
Textron. Today as part of the TTI Group (Techtronic
Industries) Homelite equipment is produced primarily for
consumer level use including chainsaws, grass trimmers, gas
generators, leaf blowers and more.
