We at Barrett Small Engine are a family owned and operated business with a
combined 30 plus years experience in small engine repair. With the experience,
and family oriented business philosophy, we provide our customers with
professional and comfortable service.
Who we are:
Rod Barrett
Administration
With experience and training in business management and leadership through out various
industries, Rod manages administrative, purchasing, and sales.
Dennis Barrett
Technical
With currently 23 years experience as a small engine technician, Dennis manages the repair shop.
What started with a certificate in small engine mechanics from ICS, has led, Dennis to acquire
numerous additional qualifications over his years as a small engine technician including:
- Bombardier Service Technical School, Recreational Products Level 2 Certificate including
supplement technical updates
- Husqvarna Mechanical Repair Course, Small Power Products Certificate
- Yamaha Power Products Service Course, Engine Internal Warranty PDA-2
History:
In 1987 Dennis Barrett founded Barrett’s Small Engine Service Centre in Eastern Canada, at the
same location where our grand father (Clement Barrett) had established Barrett’s General Store
over 50 years earlier. Unfortunately, due to local economic conditions, the business was closed in
1999.

Following Dennis’ relocation to Ontario, Rod and Dennis decided to restart the business as Barrett
Small Engine in Tottenham, Ontario. Today we are following a family business tradition of honest
and quality service that spans more than 70 years.
